What parts of your body have keratin?
Humans have keratin in our hair, nails, and the outer-most layer of skin. Keratin is also found in the linings of our internal organs!
It is the same protein that makes up the horn sheaths on bison, a cat’s claws and whiskers, a dog’s fur and nails, and a bird’s claws, feathers, and beak. It can also be found in turtle shells, porcupine quills, and the baleen plates of whales!
